Summer is Here!

Summer is here! Preparations for our Reading Camp have been in full swing for the past few weeks, and we cannot wait for the students to enjoy all we have planned. We have had many volunteers sign up for our four weeks of camp, as well as our largest number of students to date on the roster. It is very exciting to see not only the names of returning campers, but also returning volunteers.

We have so many activities lined up for the students this year. With scheduled presentations from the Space Center Houston, Brazos Bend State Park, the Houston Aquarium, and a few surprise guests, this summer is sure to be a blast! We will also have a daily 30 minute reading period, as well as an opportunity for the students to showcase their creativity by working with their teams to create short plays from a various set of prompts. Of course, this will also be round three of our camp games, where the students will compete all summer to win the coveted Summer Reading Camp Cup.

After so much planning and preparation, we are beyond excited to see everything and everybody in action.
