Summer 2025

It’s hard to believe it’s halfway through the summer already!

Over the past few weeks, our campus has been buzzing with energy as students, volunteers, and staff came together for four weeks of learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories at our 6th annual Summer Reading Camp!

We’ve welcomed new faces and seen many familiar faces—both campers and volunteers! The continued involvement speaks volumes about the strong relationships formed during our programs. Of course, we were just as excited to meet the many new participants who joined us for the first time!

Our team spent months preparing a packed schedule of enriching and exciting activities. Each day includes 30 minutes of dedicated reading time, helping students keep their minds active and engaged over the summer. Campers have experienced hands-on learning thanks to visits from Space Center Houston, Houston Museum of Natural Science,  and George Ranch—plus a few surprise guests along the way. These interactive experiences sparked curiosity and deepened the students’ love for science, nature, and exploration.  With additional upcoming visits from the Downtown Aquarium and Brazos Bend State Park, a two day LEGO building contest, and so much more, the fun and learning is just getting started!

Let’s not forget the fierce but friendly competition of our annual Camp Games, where students competed in team challenges throughout the summer, all striving to win the coveted Summer Reading Camp Cup!

Of course, with all that action, campers worked up quite an appetite. Thanks to our generous partners—Bob’s Taco Station and Lunches of Love—our students were well nourished and ready to take on each day. We’re also deeply grateful to the Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) for their continued support in making this camp possible. View pictures on our Facebook page of all the fun!

As we wrap up another successful summer, we’re filled with gratitude and pride. Yet we can’t forget that with school starting back in August that most of our campers still need our support with school supplies and after-school tutoring. You can help us by donating on our website or by dropping off new items such as spiral notebooks, markers, colored pencils and glue sticks.
