December Already?

December already?  It doesn’t seem like it should be, but the calendar and Christmas decorations tell a very different story.  It’s good though as Christmas is always such an exciting time at Fort Bend Hope.  The season always starts the Saturday after Thanksgiving with the Cookie Walk in downtown Rosenberg.  This year we gave out 125 cookies and spread the word about Fort Bend Hope to a lot of new people.  We also had wonderful volunteers from George Ranch High School helping us that day.  It’s always a lot of fun to have volunteers from our local high schools.

Coming up, we will be serving hot chocolate for Rosenberg Christmas Nights on December 8th and 15th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.  If you have never been, it’s a wonderful time to come see downtown decorated for Christmas and to really get in the Christmas spirit.  Lastly, we will have our next potluck social on December 13th at 6:00 pm in the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church Rosenberg.  We are holding it there because of the amazing growth Fort Bend Hope has seen over the last year.  We have lots of new students and volunteers who are looking forward to the potluck.  This means we need more space, and we are very grateful to First UMC Rosenberg for hosting us.  They are great partners!

What do all these opportunities have in common?  They are about building community.  At Fort Bend Hope, we believe strongly in the value of community.  We believe it makes a real difference in our ability to fulfill our mission of restoring hope by empowering families through education.  If you haven’t already, we would love to have you join our community.  Please contact us at (346) 702-3806 or at [email protected] or [email protected] to discuss how you can get involved today!
